Aaron Manning
Masters Student in Mathematics at Oxford

I'm a masters student in pure mathematics at the University of Oxford, and a casual academic at the University of New South Wales (UNSW). I did my undergraduate study at UNSW, and wrote a thesis under the supervision of Alina Ostafe and Igor Shparlinski, both of whom taught me various topics in number theory throughout my study, and helped develop my love for the subject.

While correcting the offset between academic years across hemispheres, I spent my time doing various academic jobs at UNSW including teaching, marking, exam invigilation, and problem setting, for which I particularly owe a great deal of thanks to Yudhi Bunjamin, and furthermore to Alan Stoneham, David Angell, and Raveen De Silva.

This website is where you will find projects I have worked on, blog posts I have written, and links to other places you can find me on the internet.

My main academic interests are in combinatorics, number theory, logic, and set theory. I am also particularly interested in teaching, and developing ways to make difficult ideas in mathematics more accessible to students.

Prior to starting my masters, the main projects I was focused on were a textbook I am writing for the HSC Mathematics Extension 2 course in NSW, and a note taking app I am building; I will return to these when I actually have some free time (if this ever happens).

You can read a copy of my CV here.

My Erdős number is 3 (through, for instance, the path MR4988589MR2460536MR1899117).
